A quiet lake inside the Beltway's shadow
It's hard to believe the Capital Beltway is less than a mile away when you're on the shore at Lake Accotink. The park packs a lot into a small space: paddle the lake, ride a carousel older than the lake itself, play nine holes of mini golf, and walk or bike a loop through forest and marsh where herons and turtles outnumber people.
